This site was extracted from The Internet Archive's December 2010 capture on 2021-10-20. Java, php and other dynamic content have been removed. Links to dead pages (e.g. ordering instructions for The Slab Book, eBay auctions, and contact email generator) have been removed.

A bit of cleanup of the original html has occurred to bring it closer in-line with modern standards without making changes in substance. This includes using the same fonts as SampleSlabs.info, and adding Google analytics.

The site is still using tables and is NOT fluid/responsive, but with a defined viewport - it still doesn't look GREAT on mobile devices, but it's not horrible.

NTC

(NumisTrust Corporation)

www.numistrust.com Internet Archive: 2001-2007

NumisTrust is another fairly new company and was founded in 2002. They already have two varieties of slabs. The first type has the smaller label like the NTC 1 sample while the more recent kind has the wide label (NTC 2 and 3 samples) that covers the whole top portion of the slab. Their slabs are more and more popping up on eBay, small coin shows and some dealer cases at the major conventions. They may not be in the top three of the grading company rankings, but they have gained enough market-share to stay in business for a while.

NTC 1

All three known NTC sample slab varieties have Mint State Massachusetts quarters in them. NTC 1 can easily be recognized from the others by the smaller label that leaves extra clear plastic around the borders of the slab shell. The barcode is on the front, but slightly smaller than the next two types.

This sample has the same small label as NTC 1 but has a proof coin inside! There is no grade but does have "DC" after "PR00". I want to think "DC" stands for Deep Cameo, but I'm not sure because the coin does not look Deep Cameo at all to me, let alone Cameo. They could have thought it was DCAM though since alot of their grading is off anyways. As of right now, this is the hardest sample of the whole NTC series to find!

NTC 2

When NTC changed their label to the larger format, the sample slabs changed also. The placement of the numbers and words are the same, but the barcode is slightly smaller and thicker. “Sample” appears in two separate places like NTC 1. The slab label looks much better in my opinion with the larger label format.

NTC 3

NTC 3

The latest sample slab to come out of NTC is the “Genuine” sample. It too has a Massachusetts quarter but the word “sample” was changed to “Mass. Sample” and the top line now has the coins date, mintmark and denomination whereas before they just put “00”. The Genuine slab came about in early 2003, when NTC began slabbing problem coins (Cleaned, AT etc.) as genuine without a grade. This is the sample variety NTC is passing out at shows.
